Kiss

6x6 oil on panel
Yesterday I did a few set-ups for chocolate kisses.  I had a potential customer ask if I would try to do one before Valentine's day.  Now I know why there just are not that many paintings of them out there, they're harder than they look!  The one I attempted yesterday I ended up wiping off and started over this morning with a simpler design.  I'll probably try 4 or 5 of these.

  1. We DO think so much alike! I am planning a few of these, too! Just cut me some 6 x 6" panels like I did the salt shaker on.

The simple looking things can often be the most difficult to represent in paint! Good job!!!

  2. You really nailed the silver foil on that kiss. Great painting and contrast.

  3. If you wiped the first one, you really learned from it. This looks great, and good enough to eat!

  4. I really like this...now you can do a ((hugs)) one lol...
    Your rendition is great!
Ok inquiring minds want to know.
    Who "won" the January challenge?
It seemed like both of you were doing really well.

I have an idea for a March challenge...Do green paintings until
St. Patrick's day. It can be asparagus, clovers, flowers
with greenery...Does it have to everyday
though...2 a week would be good for me.

  7. you did really well with that. I like the harmony in the background which holds the painting together.
